Not posted before but had a stroke in sept 22, Was recovering well or as well as could be , was able to walk one mile unaided .Last week had minor surgery for skin cancer, now struggling as arm/shoulder and leg feels tight guess not being able to do stretching exercises is not helping
Is this normal
@Russm welcome & sorry you’ve had a stroke and then an operation for skin cancer. Here’s hoping you’ve had your share of illness now.
It is quite common for backward steps to be taken along the recovery road especially if you’ve had to cut back on your exercises. Hopefully once you’re able to restart your exercises the gains you made before will soon come back.
Wishing you all the best.
@Russm welcome, sorry about the stroke and op.
Rehabilitation after stroke is full of ups and downs and sometimes setbacks or plateaus along the way.
Keep trying with the stretching and exercises as repetition is helpful, rest when you need to, don’t push too hard too fast, getting the balance between effort and overdoing can be tricky at first.
Hello and welcome to this great forum, ask GP to refer you for physio, might help with stiffness, failing that ask for muscular skeletal physio too.
