Same for me too Colin. Almost 2 years now. I paid for a driving assessment and that went well. I too can only drive for short distances. I hope this will improve but if not, at least I can still drive a bit. It gives me some independence which is positive!

gosh yes, the independence thing is huge. Just to go to the shops, the village hall and so on is everything.
I got to the stage of driving safely for an hour and was about to move on when a different affliction stopped me. I had stenosis.
I think the quick recovery lasts about two years, but then you can still build up your strength after that.
I am old so I expect, and get, all the ageing elements. The pandemic doesn't help either.
my car has only got 23,000 miles on its clock, and it's nine years old !
