Just need to share my thoughts

@Gazfish well done on pushing for what you felt Rich needed. It’s great to hear that he’s now able to spend a little time in a comfy, rather than hospital, bed.

We’re all here if you need some advice & support & although not medicly trained we have been through a lot ourselves so have some first hand experience.

Here’s to more progress for Rich & you & to never losing hope

Best wishes

Thanks Ann. Much appreciated! x

Hi @Gazfish ,

Best wishes to you and Rich - really pleased the physio helped and really pleased you pushed for it and got it - it is a terrible, terrible shame you have to ask for these things more than you should. It is very annoying when more often than not the initial request is refused with some wishy washy reason why it is not available or suitable for you.

Right now we are having to get a private PT because the NHS/SS believe it will not benefit Mum as she has been inactive for too long!

So we are in the process of proving that it is of benefit and we should be getting more help.

Hi Manj - it’s really good that you’re doing that. But you really shouldn’t have to.

How easy was it to source a private PT?

Gary

Hi @Gazfish,

I agree but the sad reality is that it is a lottery as to what you can get and where you can get it.
We posted our requirement on the [Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)] (http://www.csp.org.uk/).
We only got patchy response but one was very helpful and made a referral of a practice that might help us.

It wasn’t really easy, but funnily enough the NHS website has information about “private physiotherpists” since even though you can get PT on NHS for free, the waiting times can be horrendous.
