Hi others have explained what this is about abd how it works i had a 5 day external one fitted a day after goming out of hospital last August.follow up appointment they confirmed my heart best was regular. However my stroke consultant still wanted to eliminate af (irregular hesrtbeat) so i have had a monitor fitted inside my chest that records every hesrtbeat until the battery runs out in about 3 years time.
My father in law had his pulse checked at a routine gp appointment 3 weeks ago and the nurse spotted an irregular beat there and then - further hospital tests revealed af so hes now on bloid thinners… thank god they found it - he had no idea.

Oooh i remember mine i had wear it for a week it drove me nuts after day 3 so i named it Derek…hahaha me and Derek went everywhere… sadly i never saw him again after that week… Derek did tell them alot about my swinging brick though…hehe
