Wow @Clyde123 Drew well done you are canoeing!

Thanks,
4 days away from my 2year anniversary. So loads of firsts. Had to learn how to walk again. Still suffering from fatigue. Similar to your good self. Still have issues with paralysis on my left side. Congratulations on improving your kitchen skills. I used to cook all the time. Seem to have lost the enthusiasm for it that I once had.
Still other things to become involved in.
So keep moving forward, as will I! I guess it’s just about becoming used to the new person that we are now. Funny thing about it we look exactly the same from the outside. Inside, well I’ve no doubt that you understand. Stay safe
Drew
@Clyde123 yes you’re right I echo everything you just said. Well done in a few days to getting there. I know it’s a hard slog. Mine was to the day Wednesday gone but to the date it’s today. 17th. Keep going onwards and upwards happy weekend loraine x
Happy Anniversary from a fellow 2 yr since stroke ( Feb 14th) 61 yr old.
Hiya, yet another 61 year old who’s recently reached the second anniversary of her stroke ! (What on earth was going on with people of our age in 2021 ??) From what you’ve said, mine was milder than yours but I’m still dealing with occasional bouts of vertigo/dizziness and my stamina isn’t all I’d like it to be. But, like you, I like whistling and looking on the bright side of life because the alternative (ie not being here at all) is undoubtedly worse. Keep whistling and making sure the glass is at least half full all the time. Spring is here, summer’s coming with those longer, warmer days so try to enjoy everything to the best of your ability…and carpe diem as much as possible. All the best, Pam
@Pam258 hi Pam thanks, yeah I thought that about our age group, though I still blame the covid jabs!! You too keep going on wards and upwards… always look in the bright side of life (whistle)
Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse
When you’re chewing on life’s gristle
Don’t grumble, give a whistle
And this’ll help things turn out for the best
And
Always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the light side of life
If life seems jolly rotten
There’s something you’ve forgotten
And that’s to laugh and smile and dance and sing
When you’re feeling in the dumps
Don’t be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle, that’s the thing
And
Always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the right side of life
For life is quite absurd
And death’s the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow
Forget about your sin
Give the audience a grin
Enjoy it, it’s your last chance anyhow
So always look on the bright side of death
A just before you draw your terminal breath
Couldn’t resist sorry
Oh Loshy. This Stroke buiness is so unfair and yes we have to try and find the positives in almost everything we do and understanding the "New me " is diffucult. However be be proud of yourself that you have found positives and are trying still after 2 years to keep those positive notes coming in.
In regards to the governement fundings … grrr , have you claimed PIP ? as this is totally based on what disabilities/ lack of use/amount of reliability on others . And YES you should be given your State pension earlier if you have paid the required amount of NI stamps. (Carry on going off tangent as there maybe others on here that feel the same ! )
Lorraine pop in now and then you never know that one post may just catch your eye ?
Ciber Positive thoughts coming your way
