Hi I had a mini stroke in may . Then had a stroke on the 9 August thankfully I realised that I was probably having a stroke I called Nhs direct who sent an ambulance by the time I got to ae I was having a stroke, they did a ct scan within 10 minutes. I was then taken into ressus and seen consultant who said my stroke was caused by a clot. He explained that they could offer me the clot buster drug. And that this would hopefully reverse the damage. I was thombolysied and monitored closely for the next 24 hours. Within another 4 hours there was already signs that the drug was working. Thankfully it worked. I am just left with fatigue and sometimes have difficulty getting out what I want to say. But been told this should hopefully get better .
