Has anyone had any experience of having Occupational Therapy assessments regarding finding more suitable living accommodation?
The rented home I live alone in is too large and is on 2 levels. Ideally I would want to be in some kind of sheltered accommodation at ground level.
Would an OT assessment help me to be prioritised in view of my mobility issues?
Yes I have experience and actually I am in the middle of doing something along those lines.
I’ll send you a proper reply probably tomorrow / sat.

Thank you. I will watch out for your reply.
Are you leaving your roommate, JP?
Well he is leaving me technically but it’s not that simple!!
I will send a full reply later / tomo.
Just about to watch Banged Up
HI @sunnyday
I have been thinking of the best way to discuss this with you and it’s probably much easier by zoom or telephone?
If you’re not comfortable with that no problem but will struggle to get it all down quicking in text…
I guess it also depends on where you are etc. My OT has completed a ‘housing needs assessment’ for me and sent that to the council as a start and I can tell you more!!
Let me know.
Kieran
Thankyou for the reply. This has answered one of my questions that the OT can do a housing needs assessment.
I guess in the first instance that I would need to get my GP to make a referral to the OT department?
That’s where I fall down I’m afraid. I have had an OT for ages and have no idea where she came from!!
She is next coming on Tuesday and I can ask if that would help…
Polar bear in mind that I do live in London Zone 2! Newham.

So you’re moving to a new flat that better accommodates you?
When are you moving, friend?
All a bit up in the air at the moment - will be in the next few months TBD!
I’ll keep you posted K
