Online learning

Hello all,

I’m rubbish at contributing but aim to do so in the future.

I just wondered if anyone has done any online learning since their Stroke?
Also how did you find it and do you have any links. I’m keen to try this.

Thanks

@Hayeam

Hi.

What sort of things are you looking for? I mean I know a few sights to help perhaps with scanning after hemianopia and my hobby is set theory so what did you have in mind?!

Yeah I echo @KGB 's question because I’ve got quite a lot of project management training online that you can have access to if you want!

We have had people post lots of links to use for YouTube etc around our stroke challenges such as Elise and Tara’s YouTube channels. Is that what you mean ?

I have suggested somebody put a wiki post of the best resources available. It’s something I will do soon if nobody else has…

I’m sure with a little targeting we can give you some helpful links :slight_smile:

Ciao

Simon

PS you’re not rubbish at contributing you just made a good contribution that gives other people the opportunity to expand on - Great job :+1: :clap:

@Hayeam

Nice to meet you. It’s about eighteen months since my stroke.

I’m into the kitchen and cooking and I’ve had chance to try out and post a few recipes.

I’ve also written some whimsical stuff on the forum, plus some experiences, folk seem to have enjoyed that and it does keep me busy.

I’ve posted music, pictures, videos, it’s all good.

Writing up your experiences can entertain and instruct others, so it is useful. Gives the brain a bit of a workout as well.

There are online writing courses, but just writing what you feel can be good too.

There are ears that will listen here and folk are kind and tolerant so, you know where you are, just share it.

You could join a zoom meeting and meet others off the forum face to face.

Keep on keepin’ on

100% agree

@Hayeam

Trust me he’s got some good ones! I’m just about to - well in a few days - try some ‘plum jerkum’ :wink: :smiley:

I can give you a recipe for polar bear shaped biscuits or some advice on the difficulties in creating a secure chamber to hold the atoms during the nuclear fusion process…

Hi,

I won’t be able to work in the foreseeable future, however I would like to do A Levels/degree online. Anything history based or finance related.

Thanks

Hi Bobbi,

That sounds excellent. My passion is music related (live and collecting records).
Online writing sounds great and something I would be very interested in.

Thanks

Excellent thanks Simon,

I’ll put the Project Management on hold for the moment. Though it sounds brilliant.

I would like to do something similar.

I have looked up various bits and the open university has a wide range of courses and isn’t tooooooo pricey - I wouldn’t be able to pay myself but when I wnat to I will look into funding.

They actually seem reasonble.

Otherwise your local authority / OT etc may be able to help. sure you can do some distance A levels!!

I am an ex banker so I can recomend some bits but they are epensive!!

Yeh it hurts me sometimes - probably never for me to be honest - well I’m not being negative but I will never be able to do what I did. New work now - on myself and be that this forum / online stuff / whatever I can get I will try.

Not today death - not today.
